Tournament Rules

- Dates: APRIL 4th beginning at 5:00 A.M. through MAY 26th ending at 7:00 P.M.
- ALL fish are to be weighed in at either ZEKES LANDING MARINA:
Hours are 1:00 P.M. TO 7:00 P.M.
or DAUPHIN ISLAND MARINA: Hours are 2:00 P.M. TO 6:00 P.M.

- This is an all tackle category tournament. Anglers may use any line class up to 130 lb.
- Single hook rigs must use circle hooks. Two hook rigs may use straight hooks with nothing larger than a #3 hook.
- Charter Boat owners, captains and deck hands are not eligible for world or state record prizes. In addition, they are not eligible for any angler award while on a charter.
- All anglers must present ticket at time of weigh-in.
- All boats must start and end trip through Alabama's state waters, and not make landfall in between.
- All fish must be caught on rod and reel.
- All fish must be brought to the weigh station on the boat on which fish was caught.
- Any modifications to any fish to alter the weigh-in will be grounds for disqualification.
- All fish must be weighed in on the day caught, unless caught on a 2 day trip. Anglers must have 2 tickets for 2 day trips. No longer trips qualify.
- Only 1 prize per boat and angler, with the exception of State and/ or World Record.
- Boat registration will continue throughout the tournament. Entries received on or after April 4th must wait 48 hours to be eligible to weigh fish.
- The rules committee, in order to conserve resources, has set a minimum length of 24" for a red snapper to be entered.
- The new Ford truck is for the largest new Alabama State Record red snapper weighed in during the tournament. The $500,000.00 cash award is for the largest red snapper breaking the world record weighed during the tournament. In case of a tie in either category, the first fish weighed is the winner.
- Any fish entered that places becomes property of the Orange Beach Red Snapper World Championship.
- All participants are subject to a polygraph examination.
- All fish are subject to being checked with a toro meter.
- Any protests must be presented in writing to a tournament committee member within 24 hours of fish in question. No protests will be accepted after 7:00pm on May 26th, 2008. Decision of the tournament rules committee is final.
